The primary purpose of your job position is to assist the PACE Transportation Supervisor in the daily scheduling of all drivers and participants by using computer based programs for scheduling and Microsoft Office. The PACE Dispatcher will be expected to attend training on the daily scheduling system and will be expected to use this computer based scheduling system on a daily basis as part of the operation. The PACE Dispatcher will also ensure that all vehicles are in compliance with all safety requirements set forth by the BCBS Pace Center, as well as governed by state authorities.

 

DISPATCHER FUNCTIONS

1. Effectively schedule and route Participants/Residents for internal and external trips ensuring that resident/participant are on time and driver support appropriate breaks and lunches.

2. Oversee the scheduling of transportation services and ensure both maximum efficiency and high customer satisfaction.

3. Effectively communicate with the drivers on route changes and updates throughout the day to ensure timeliness of Residents/Participants appointments and deliveries.

4. Effectively Communicate with staff internal/external Departments/Contractors employees dispatching to needed locations to routine or emergency situations.

5. Provide timely information for participants that cancel or are considered no show, in addition communicate any missed appointments or cancelations with the clinic team.

6. Complete and update Resident/Participant information on the Transportation software on a timely and accurate manner.

7. Receive and follow instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures.

8. Working knowledge of the daily scheduling computerized software used in the daily operation. (including shift and re-arrange routes as needed on a daily basis if necessary.

9. Resolve problems and concerns in appropriate manner, following the proper chain of command.

10. Remain alert to pertinent input from other members, Residents/Participants, caregivers, and update the IDT/Drivers promptly of any changes in Residents/Participants condition or psychological status.

11. Participate in the IDT meetings including preparation, active engagement (listening to others sharing ideas and driving toward solutions) and timely follow up.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Degree and diplomas: Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certificates, Licenses: California Driver’s License Class C. First Aid, Fire card required within 30 days of hire. TB screening and successful completion of a health examination by a health care provider is required for employment.
  • Experience: Previous related experience desirable. Must have 1-year experience working with the frail or elderly. 
  • Skill: Bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred.
