Located at the intersection of Tampa Avenue and Sherman Way in Reseda, Grancell Village is home to over 350 seniors, who are receiving skilled nursing, geriatric psychiatry, and short-term rehabilitation care. It is also the site of the Los Angeles Jewish Health's Brandman Centers for Senior Care. Joyce Eisenberg Keefer Medical Center is a state-of-the-art skilled nursing center, with up to 239 residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Activity Team Leader in planning, developing and carrying out an ongoing program of activities to meet the physical, mental and social needs and interest of the residents. 
  • Supervises all aspects of activity program, provides assessments and completes documentation in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates activities with other departments as necessary.         
  • Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.

Education and Experience:

  • Must possess a high school education or GED.
  • Must have, as a minimum, 1 year experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility. 
  • Completion of the Activity Leader (previously "Activity Director") course designed specifically for this position and approved by the State of California required prior or within 30 days of starting new role.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
  • Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing activity services.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
